Terms of Use
Last updated: October 21, 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use cover your use of CanuckFI and by using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
2. Who may use the site
You can use the public calculators without an account. Some enhanced functionality requires creation of an account, and may in future require a paid subscription.
You must be at least the age of majority in your province, or have a parent's or guardian's consent, to create an account.
3. Your account
You agree that your account may only be used by the owner of the account, and agree not to share the use of or credentials of your account with any 3rd party. You further agree that you are solely responsible for ensuring your credentials remain secure, and to change them should they be compromised.
4. Access levels
Some tools and features need a higher access level. Examples include the rental-property tool, saved scenarios, CSV export and longer projection horizons. The tools show the current limits.
If you are signed in but have not completed a required second-factor check, you get Free-level access until you do.
5. Not financial, tax, legal or investment advice
The tools and content on this site are financial models and educational information only. They are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and they do not account for your personal circumstances. Projections are estimates, not guarantees, and past performance is not indicative of future performance. Tax figures are estimates, not a filed return. Results depend on the assumptions you enter and on various simplifications built into each model. Before acting on a strategy, review it with a qualified financial advisor or tax professional. We cannot review your personal situation.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- try to access another person's account or data, or any part of the site you are not authorized to use;
- get around access-level or subscription limits, rate limits, anti-spam checks or other security controls;
- send automated or high-volume requests that degrade the service, or scrape the site in bulk;
- probe, scan or test the site's security without our written permission;
- use the contact form to send spam or unlawful content, or to share other people's personal information without their consent;
- request sign-in links for email addresses that are not yours;
- use the site to break any law.
7. Intellectual property
The site, its software, models, text and design belong to CanuckFI or its licensors. You may use the tools and save, export or print your own results for personal use. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the site or its content except as these terms allow.
8. No warranty; limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted or error-free. Nor do we guarantee that its financial models, tax rules or parameters are up to date or accurate; some simplifications have been made to provide a streamlined user experience and improve performance. To the fullest extent the law allows, CanuckFI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss arising from decisions you make based on the site's output.
9. Changes to the service and these terms
We may add, change or remove features, tools or access-level limits at any time, without notice. We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will update the "Last updated" date and give notice on the site. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
10. Suspension and termination
We may disable an account that, in our reasonable opinion, breaches these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. A disabled account cannot be used to access account features or saved data. Its holder can still use the public calculators at the Free level. You can stop using the site at any time. You can delete your saved scenarios yourself. The site does not offer self-service account deletion; to close your account, contact us (see the Privacy Policy, "Your rights and choices").
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
12. Contact
